Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to go next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
