In a bizarre partnership that defies conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "An unusual encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of banned rituals and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The storyline features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret sect.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre tests and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Changes

The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Bonus Material

Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an special katana together with multiple items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Addition

This update also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
